I sailed with LYLE'S 1959 TO 1960 as Chief Electrician ships Cape Horn, Cape
Sable maiden voyage Feb.1960 back to the yard for the Cape Wrath sailed Aug 1960, great crews on all of the ships. Left the company to get married
C.E.,on Cape Sable was M.D. Maguire
the Captain was A.B.Sutherland.

Sailed on the Cape Sable under Lyle Shipping back in 1960 as catering boy. twelve month voyage Aus, Japan States.
I remember Keith Perkins Cook,
Duncan Brown from Glasgow Ass, Steward. Smudger Smith Ass Steward from Port Glasgow.
Great times.

Joined Baron Dunmore in Italy 1977 as per crew list. Previously did 6 month trip on the Baron Maclay. Sailed with a great bunch of lads and had time of my life. Moved to Australia in 83 just retired after 30 years in hospital engineering. Wrked with 2 ex SSM lads, Andy Smyth and Geoff Rowlands.

Hello any old timed served cadets / 3rd mates from the mid sixties, I served as cadet from 1964 to 67 then 3rd mate on Cape Rodney then had to leave due to a serious hernia then await an op.
Still in the maritime industry lecturing navigation and nautical subjects for the MCA and RYA certificates. Regards to all old buddys cheers gord441081

Ho Ian Benzie. My Memory is not as good as it was but your right about the horn,I was on it. The only name i remeber is John Cross,from memory he was a bit of a lad. Do you ecer go to any of the SSM end of year function. I have been hoping that maybe one day I will make it but its the cold weather that puts me off. cheers Ian

Just found your web site and enjoy some of its stock.

Any of you people at persent working in DSV/ROV /Subsea construction ,that can give a lead -please do call .
I have worked in this field now for some 20 years and am at present looking for a good slot .
I know market has been flat for last 9 months , but maybe someone has a contact .
